André Tavares
André Tavares, born in 1976, is an architect, curator and director of the exhibition gallery Garagem Sul at the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon. He runs Dafne Editora, a small architectural publishing house in Porto and is the author of several books on the relation between architectural culture and the public sphere. In “The Anatomy of the Architectural Book” (2016), Tavares examines approaches to structuring, constructing and designing architectural books and traces how they have changed over time. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the gta Institute of the ETH Zurich and at the Lab2PT of the Escola do Minho in Portugal. In 2016, he has been appointed, with Diogo Seixas Lopes, as chief-curator for the Lisbon Architecture Triennale.
